After Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda)

Just 3 days after the strongest typhoon to ever make landfall rains upon the provinces of Leyte and Samar in central Philippines, with the most prominent blow in the city of Tacloban, more than 10,000 people are feared to have died. Presently, there are 6 trucks circulating the city in attempts to clear the streets of lifeless bodies...

Yet, for some of us that were not as badly affected, what implications does this have? Personally, this raises some issues in my mind about what moral obligations we have, as Filipino citizens and residents, to help these people in need?

People like this woman and her two children, trying to brave the storm?


People who take shelter under what remains of their house?



It is deeply devastating to think that there are about 200,000 residents in this city that need our help.
